Pasta with Sausage and Peas

This is a recipe that doesn't include any chopping! I wish every recipe was like this one. It only takes about 20-30 minutes to make.

Pasta with Sausage and Peas

INGREDIENTS

4 links of pork/chicken/turkey sausage

1 bunch/package of sage

1 box (1 lb) of pasta (recommend bow ties, wheels, shells, penne, or spirals)

2 tbsp of butter

1 bag of frozen petite peas

1/2 cup of grated pecorino/parmesan  cheese

HARDWARE

1 large pot

1 large sautee pan

paring knife

clean spare plate

  1. Fill large pot with water and bring to a boil on high heat.
  2. While water is coming to boil, place butter in pan on low heat. Rinse and remove leaves of sage from stems.
  3. Add sage leaves to butter and fry for 5 mins.
  4. Remove and discard sausage casings with paring knife on spare plate. Add sausage to pan with butter and sage. Turn heat up to medium.
  5. When the water comes to a boil, add pasta and cook to al dente per instructions on package/box.
  6. Break sausage up in the pan and cook through.
  7. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water. Drain pasta.
  8. Add pan of sausage, sage, and butter into pot of pasta. Add peas and turn heat to medium. Add reserved pasta water until pasta is at desired consistency. Scrape up any brown bits from the pan and add to the pot.
  9. Add cheese and enjoy.
