Italian Burgers with Corn Salad

We're already wanting a good burger now and again. This one really is beefy, cheesy, and full of flavor with some ingredients added to the patties. We usually make this with a simple side to make a full meal out it. 

Italian Burgers with Corn Salad

INGREDIENTS

1 lb of ground beef

1 tbsp of Dijon mustard

2 tbsp of pecorino cheese, grated

1 tbsp of chopped fresh parsely

1 tbsp of chopped fresh oregano

1 clove of garlic, minced

1 bag of frozen corn kernels

4-5 leaves of fresh basil

1 tbsp Canola oil 

 

HARDWARE

Cast iron pan or any other large pan (grill pan can be used as well.)

Spatula

Knife

Cutting board

Saute pan

Large mixing bowl

 

  1. Roughly chop parsley, oregano, and basil.
  2. Mince garlic.
  3. Preheat caste iron/large/grill pan to medium high with half the canola oil. 
  4. Pat beef dry with paper towels and place in large mixing bowl. Add mustard, cheese, parsley, oregano, and garlic. Mix well and form 2 equal patties about 1 inch thick. 
  5. When pan is smoking, add burgers. Cook for 3 minutes each side for medium rare. Remove and let rest for 10 minutes.
  6. While burgers are resting, heat saute pan to medium with other half of canola. 
  7. Cut open and empty bag of corn into the pan. Stir occasionally for 10 minutes. Turn off heat and toss in basil.
